Coasteering in Devon
With the dramatic backdrops of Hartland, Baggy Point, and Ilfracombe, this activity is tailored to the group’s ability and the weather conditions. It involves scrambling along the rocky foreshore, jumping into deep rock pools, and paddling through the sea, offering an exciting way to explore the stunning North Devon coastline.
We have several locations and routes to choose from, depending on the level of challenge desired and the conditions on the day. Our usual route may include scrambling past the remains of a Victorian steamship, one of many wrecks that have met their fate along this rugged coastline. As we navigate the foreshore, there are multiple opportunities for jumps and swims, though each is optional, allowing participants to engage at their comfort level.
Everyone is fully equipped with wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets, and other essential safety gear. All you will need is swim wear, well fitting and tying old trainers and a towel.
This activity provides a unique perspective on North Devon’s coastline, immersing participants in its raw beauty and power. Beyond the adventure, this experience helps develop resilience, teamwork, and perseverance, while fostering a deeper respect for the ocean’s strength and the ever-changing coastal environment.
Please note: This activity is tide and weather-dependent, ensuring safety and the best possible experience.
