Encompass Training has an enviable safety record.
Outdoor activities do have an element of risk but all activities at Great Potheridge are run in such a way as to reduce that risk. Risk assessments and operating procedures are all available to visiting groups and approving bodies.
Our centre has held a licence since the inception of the licensing scheme, R0720.
We are ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ inspected by the British Activity Providers Association (BAPA), the industry’s trade body. See www.thebapa.org.uk
We have a 5 star hygiene rating and have been inspected by the fire officer.
The centre is in a remote location, 1/4 of a mile down a farm road, with no other houses around. We have key pads on external doors where possible, the assistant manager and staff live on-site and we have two friendly guard dogs. The house and barn complex is fire alarmed. We also have a CCTV system operating.
Staffing is key to running adventure activities safely.
At Encompass Training we use a range of well-qualified and experienced staff who are all fully checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB).
