Watersports
With exclusive access to Woolladon Lake, a stunning body of water within Devon Wildlife Trust’s flagship nature reserve at Meeth, we offer an exceptional venue for watersports.
Woolladon Lake, formed from a flooded former quarry, is a haven for wildlife, home to species such as snipe, great crested grebes, otters, and even the occasional visiting osprey. Surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, it provides a safe and tranquil environment for outdoor learning and adventure.
Our Watersports Activities
✔ Raft building – ideal for teamwork and problem-solving.
✔ Stand-up paddleboarding – including our giant paddleboard, perfect for group fun!
✔ Canoeing – we can raft canoes together for extra stability, ensuring a safe and rewarding experience for younger or less confident participants.
✔ Kayaking – using sit-on-top kayaks, which are easy to use for all abilities.
Operating from a safe and scenic location, we have a dedicated compound for storage and changing facilities, ensuring a comfortable and well-equipped experience for all participants. Our sessions are always tailored to each group’s needs, and we are highly experienced in supporting individuals who may feel anxious about water, helping them to build confidence and enjoy success.
With sole use of the lake, we provide a focused, supportive, and immersive experience, making it an ideal setting for adventure, learning, and personal growth. While our sessions center on watersports, we also embed environmental education and stewardship into our courses. We take pride in introducing thousands of local children to this breathtaking nature reserve, fostering a lifelong respect for our natural surroundings and the nature reserve.
We provide everyone with a wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy aid, all you need is an old pair of trainers, swim wear & towel.
